What vehicles does Emoss convert to fully electric?

All medium-sized and heavy vehicles, both new and used.

Can I convert my used vehicle into an electric vehicle?

Yes, that is possible. We have a standard powertrain for various types of vehicles / models.

Will my truck be heavier with an electric powertrain?

Yes, with an electric powertrain, a truck will be around 10% heavier compared to diesel.

What is the range of a powertrain?

The range is variable and depends on a number of factors. The driver, for instance, influences 30% of the range of the powertrain. Other factors that impact the range of the powertrain are weather, landscape and other energy-using equipment.

Will I need a dedicated charging station?

No. All Emoss powertrains have an onboard charger. The electric infrastructure is usually sufficient to charge the truck in the normal manner. If you opt for fast charging, you will need to purchase a charging station.

What does a powertrain cost?

The costs of a powertrain depend on the vehicle specifications and options, but prices start at around €75,000.

What is the lifetime of the batteries?

The lifetime of the batteries depends on a number of factors, including your application and the use. However, Emoss has extensive experience with the batteries that are used. At some customers, they even have a good State of Health (SOH) after ten years.

What is the warranty term?

The warranty term for the kit is 12 - 24 months.

The warranty term for batteries is 5 years or 3000 charging cycles (a charging cycle is charging the battery for at least 80%).

Can the battery catch fire?

Emoss uses LFP technology and has tested the batteries under different extreme conditions. As Emoss does not use cobalt as a base material, there is no risk of the batteries catching fire.

Do external temperatures impact the performance of the battery and/or the range?

Proactive battery management systems and thermo management systems help us ensure that the battery is always at the ideal operating temperature.

Do you only supply powertrains with batteries as source of energy?

No, we also have various options with hydrogen and range extenders.

Does Emoss also supply 24/7 service and product support?

Yes. We have a 24/7 service line. In our experience, we can solve 70% of complaints by telephone. And if we can’t solve the problem in this way, our Emoss experts are ready to help you wherever you are in the world.

How long does charging take?

Charging time depends on the size of the battery. The trucks have standard 44 kWh batteries. A 200 kWh battery pack is charged in about 4.5 hours. Using the fast charge option, this is reduced to 75 minutes.

What training is included in the purchase of a powertrain?

You will, of course, receive driver training when purchasing a standard powertrain. If we implement a powertrain integration project with you, we will provide production, service and warranty training.

What is the delivery time of a powertrain?

We have a delivery period of 12 to 20 weeks for a standard powertrain. A custom-made powertrain can be delivered within a year.

Does Emoss have experience with vehicles on public roads?

Yes, we currently have more than 400 vehicles driving on the roads, 150 of which were added during the past year. We collect valuable data from these vehicles, which we can use to make improvements and innovations.

Does it make driving different?

Yes, it does. First of all, it is very quiet. There is no noise from the diesel motor and drivers hear other noises, such as the wind and the tyres. Regeneration also takes some getting used to at first. Finally, driving electrically requires a different mindset. Whereas a petrol tank can be filled immediately, with an electric vehicle you will have to wait until it’s charged. But, ultimately, driving an electric vehicle is a pleasure for most drivers.
